French Toast Soufflé Recipe


A delicious twist on a brunch staple! Prepare the night before and bake before your brunch event !

Ingredients

10 cupsbread cubes (challah, or white bread) or slices
8 ozcream cheese, softened
8eggs
1 1/2 cupsmilk
2/3 cuphalf and half
1/2 cupmaple syrup
1/2 tspvanilla extract
1/2 tspcinnamon
1/4 cupbrown sugar
fruits (optional)
confectioner's sugar (optional)

Preparation

  1. Place bread in a lightly greased baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth.
  3. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well.
  4. Stir in milk, half and half, maple syrup, vanilla, brown sugar.
  5. Pour mixture over bread, cover, let sit overnight.
  6. The following morning, remove the souffle from the refrigerator, let stand at room temperature for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 375F.
  7. Bake, uncovered, for 30 minutes.
  8. Serve warm, sprinkle each serving with confectioner sugar and fruits.
