Chili Dogs Recipe


Ingredients

1/2 largeonion, chopped
1 lbground beef
30 ozred kidney beans
2 clovesgarlic
8 oztomato sauce
~1/2 cupbeef broth
1 tbsphoney
1 tbsppaprika
1/2 tbspchili powder
1/2 tspcayenne pepper (optional)
to tastesalt
hot dogs
hot dog buns
cheddar cheese, shredded
onion, chopped for garnish

Preparation

  1. Fry onions over high heat, until brown.
  2. Add ground beef.
  3. When beef is halfway cooked, add garlic.
  4. Once the beef is fully browned, add the kidney beans, tomato sauce, honey, and beef broth. Add all the spices (except cayenne) and bring to a simmer. Add salt and cayenne, as needed.
  5. Allow the chili to cook on a gentle simmer, at least 30 minutes.
  6. Barbecue the hot dogs, over medium heat. Toast the buns lightly, if desired.
  7. Assemble the hot dogs and garnish with onion and cheese.
