Spiced Cookie Bars Recipe

Serve Spiced Cookie Bar with a small scoop of Charred Orange Sorbet and drizzle with warm Rum Sauce.

Ingredients

1 1/4 cupsflour
1 tspallspice, ground
1/2 cup(1 stick) butter, softened
1/4 cupfirmly packed brown sugar
1/4 cupgranulated sugar
1egg
2 tbspblack rum
1/2 tsppure vanilla extract

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Mix flour and allspice in medium bowl. Set aside.
  3. Beat butter and sugars in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy.
  4. Add egg, rum and vanilla; mix well.
  5. Gradually beat in flour mixture on low speed until well mixed.
  6. Spread in greased foil-lined 8-inch square baking pan.
  7. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
  8. Cool in pan on wire rack. Cut into 4 squares then cut each square crosswise into 4 triangles.
