Three Colour Yeast Cake Recipe


This little cake is bursting with delicious flavours!

Ingredients

200gwheat flour, type: 450
150gwheat flour, type: 500
200mLmilk
1egg
80gsugar
30gbutter, room temperature
pinchsalt
1 packagedried yeast
1 tbspmatcha tea
1 1/2 tbspcocoa powder
1 tbspwheat flour

Preparation

  1. Mix together all ingredients except tea, cocoa powder and 1 tbsp wheat flour. Knead well into uniformed, smooth dough.
  2. Divide dough into 3 equal parts. 3, Mix matcha with 1 tbsp water and add it to first portion of dough, knead well, until colour is evenly distributed.
  3. Mix cocoa powder with second portion of dough, knead well, until colour is evenly distributed.
  4. Add tbsp flour to remaining portion of uncoloured dough, knead well.
  5. Form long rolls from each 1/3 dough, use extra flour if they are too sticky to handle. Braid dough.
  6. Place on baking tray. Let rise for about 1 1/2 hour.
  7. Bake at 180C, about 45 minutes.
