Cauliflower Balls Recipe


1 headfresh cauliflower
3 slicesbread
extra fine breadcrumbs
black pepper
dusting of garlic powder
fresh parsley, finely chopped
2 tbspParmesan cheese, fresh grated
oil for deep frying


  1. Bring 500mL of water to a boil over high heat.
  2. Meanwhile, wash cauliflower, then cut it into a small pieces.
  3. Add the cauliflower to the hot water, cover and cook about 10 minutes, until soft.
  4. Pour the bread slices into a deep dish and fill with enough milk to cover the bread, set aside.
  5. Dry cauliflower and allow to cool about 10 minutes.
  6. Mash the cauliflower with a fork, squeeze the milk from the bread slices and chop onto the cauliflower. Stir with hands to combine.
  7. Make a well in the center, add egg, salt, black paper, parsley, garlic powder to taste, and Parmesan cheese. If the mixture is still too wet, add some breadcrumbs, one tbsp at a time.
  8. Fill the bottom of a plate with breadcrumbs.
  9. Shape a small balls from the cauliflower mixture, roll very well into the breadcrumbs.
  10. Fry into a very hot oil until lightly brown and crispy.
  11. Serve warm!
