Bread Rolls Recipe

These tasty bread rolls are a great addition to any meal. No breadmaker required for this recipe!

250gbread flour
1 tspsalt
1 tbspmilk powder
5ggreen tea powder
2 tspinstant yeast
2 tbspwater
60grolled oats
3 tsphoney
 30gunsalted butter (or 1.5-2 teaspoons of vegetable oil)


  1. A: bread flour, sugar, salt, milk powder, green tea powder, instant yeast, water, water, rolled oats B: egg, honey
  2. Mix yeast and 180mL water and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the remaining ingredients on List A until well blended.
  4. Add yeast + water mixture and mix well.
  5. Add List B ingredients into the bowl. Knead to form a smooth dough.
  6. Add butter into the dough, knead to form a smooth and elastic dough. Shape to a ball, cover the bowl with a cling film. Leave in a warm place to rise for 60 minutes, until it doubles in size.
  7. Divide the dough into about 50g each. Shape bread doughs, and rest on a greaseproof parchment lined baking tray. Let the rolls rise for 60 minutes.
  8. About 15 minutes before baking, preheat oven to 190*C.
  9. Brush top of the bread rolls with egg wash (for glossy finish) or water (for matte finish). Then sprinkle with rolled oats.
  10. Bake bread rolls for about 15 minutes, or 30 minutes for loaf.
  11. Remove bread from tin immediately after baking to prevent shrinkage. Let cool on wire rack
