Nutella-Stuffed Sugar Cookies Recipe

Taste your newest guilty pleasure with these chocolatey, Nutella cookies.


2 cupsall purpose flour
1/4 tspsalt
1/2 tspbaking powder
1/2 tspcinnamon
1/2 cupunsalted butter, softened
1 cupsugar
1egg, slightly beaten
2 tbspmilk
1/2 tspvanilla
1/2 cupNutella
1/4 cupsemisweet chocolate chips
1/4 cuphazelnuts


  1. Roast hazelnuts at 400*F for 10-15 minutes. Place hot nuts in a towel and rub vigorously until husks come off. Peel off remaining husks. Place in food processor. Chop roughly.
  2. Combine flour, salt, cinnamon and baking powder in a medium size bowl.
  3. In a larger bowl, cream sugar and butter.
  4. Add all dry ingredients and mix until well incorporated.
  5. Add egg, milk and vanilla and mix until fully blended.
  6. Roll dough on a lightly floured surface and cut into 2 separate balls.
  7. Wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  8. Heat oven to 350*F.
  9. On a floured surface, roll out dough to 1/8 inch thick and cut out circles with a cookie cutter.
  10. Pipe 1/2 tsp of Nutella into the center of each cookie. Fold over edge and seal with a fork.
  11. Bake cookies for 8-10 minutes, until edges are slightly brown.
  12. Cool on wire racks.
  13. Once cookies have completely cooled, melt chocolate chips. Drizzle melted chocolate, using a fork, over cookies. Sprinkle with hazelnuts. 
  14. Let sit for 5-10 minutes, for chocolate to set.
