Mexican Brownies Recipe

Spice up your brownies with a Mexican twist!


1/2 cupunsalted butter (1 stick)
1 cupgranulated sugar
1 tsppure vanilla extract
1/3 cupcocoa powder
1/2 cupall purpose flour
1/2 tspground cinnamon
1/8 tspcayenne pepper
1/4 tspkosher salt
1/4 tspbaking powder


  1. Preheat oven to 350*F.
  2. Grease a 9x13" pan.
  3. Melt butter in a non-stick saucepan over medium-low heat, making sure not to boil. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  4. To the saucepan, add the sugar and the eggs. stir with a wooden spoon until creamy.
  5. Add in the cocoa powder, flour, cinnamon, cayenne, salt, and baking powder. Mix until a smooth texture.
  6. Spread batter into pan. Bake for 20 minutes. 
  7. Let cool and serve
