|2 tsp (10 mL)||canola oil|
|12 oz (375 g)||lean ground turkey or chicken|
|1||small onion, finely chopped|
|1 pouch (35 g)||sodium-reduced taco seasoning|
|1 cup (250 mL)||strained, puréed (or canned crushed) tomatoes|
|1 cup (250 mL)||water|
|1/2 cup (125 mL)||light sour cream (optional)|
|1/2 cup (125 mL)||each shredded Cheddar cheese, diced tomato and chopped green onion|
|Optional||Crumbled nacho chips|
Cook bows according to package directions.
Meanwhile, heat oil in a large, nonstick skillet set over medium-high heat. Add turkey, onion and taco seasoning. Cook, crumbling turkey, for 10 minutes or until well browned. Add tomatoes and water. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer for 5 minutes or until thickened.
Toss turkey mixture with hot, cooked bows and divide between four serving bowls. Add a dollop of sour cream (if using). Sprinkle an equal portion of cheese, tomato and green onion onto each portion. Garnish with nacho chips (if using).
